Always having a camera with me is like Marshal Dillon always having his gun, ready to shoot in an instant. Making interesting photographs has always ben my avocation since an early age. The contents of this gallery, are the results of my recent photographic ramblings.

Bruce Lukaszewicz (BELphotos) > In the upper photo, I caught this young couple whale watching at the bluffs near the tidal pools at Pt. Loma in San Diego. I then waved frantically across the canyon for them to sit closer and pose, which they graciously did for me. The above composition is the result.
Bruce Lukaszewicz (BELphotos) > The MisAdventures of Samy Chipmunk - I set out the nuts and seeds and settled back for about forty-five minutes before Samy showed up. I was shooting in rapid mode and didn't realize I caught this action until I downloaded them to the computer. My demented mind immediately constructed a mental image - basically the one above. The photos are all unmodified right out of my D90, except for the cropping. The lens is a Nikon 70-300 4.5-5.6 AF ED VR. To construct the comic book style, I used Comic Life Deluxe, one of the many versatile programs used on a Mac.

Bruce Lukaszewicz (BELphotos) > This is Elmo the Magnificent. I made this photo on slide film in 1981 at a local children's zoo. I shot this with my three and four year old sons hanging on my legs - now that I think about it, they probably steadied the shot. I used either Ektachrome 64 or Kodachrome 64 slide film using my Nikon Ftn (circa 1970) with a 50mm 1.4 lens. I had it transferred digitally about 18 months ago with about 1000 other slides. The transfer was made by ScanCafe, and they restored it perfectly. The only post processing that I have done is to crop it and add the copyright. As I was perusing my libraries during the latest rain storm, I came across it and thought that I would share it with you.

Bruce Lukaszewicz (BELphotos) > 2009-06-11 Pool Room_Fred ~ I am on a Black & White kick lately, getting back to basics. Also making many photos in manual modes. Still have to use auto focus, I don't trust my vision for the fine tuning. I also feel that older people photograph better in B&W, it's almost as if that medium was invented for them. It also simultaneously, hides and reveals the character of aging.
Bruce Lukaszewicz (BELphotos) > 2009-06-10 - The Librarian

There were some earlier comments on this photo.. I did not delete them. When I made a copy of this for my People Gallery, that's is where they went when I moved the copy. I really wish they would come up with a way to just create a link to the Dailies instead of the duplication / move process. Seems like an awful waste of 0's and 1's.
Bruce Lukaszewicz (BELphotos) > 2009-06-08 Daily - Bicycle... The overall color saturation overpowered this photo to an extreme. The vegetation; grass and bushes, are so lush from the 40 days and nights of rain that we have had; they were just too much for the heart of the photo - the bicycle and the flower baskets. So, I got to improve my layers skill and get more proficient with my tablet and pen. Not too shabby if I do say so myself.
